The adaptation of media companies to corporate Social responsibility standards and best practice
Abstract
This research looks into the adaptation of Media management and reporting standards to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through the analysis of reports deposited with the Global Reporting Database (GRD) during 1999-2013. The outcome will show to which extent companies are gradually incorporating these guidelines and best practice. As of March 2013 the GRD counts with 13.446 annual reports from various sectors and nationalities out of which 145 are Media related companies. We study in more detail the 36 most recent ones from 2012 and 2013.
