En el año 2002 Daniel Kahneman ganó el Premio Nobel en Economía, hecho inusual pues él es un psicólogo. En realidad, él es uno de dos psicólogos que, a partir de la década de 1970, se propusieron desmantelar una propuesta largamente establecida en el cuerpo teórico de la economía: que el denominado Homo economicus siempre toma decisiones y realiza juicios de forma ordenada y racional.
