Ombudsman's situation in Latin America
Keywords:
ombudsman, Latin AmericaAbstract
The following article is the result of an investigation aimed at evaluating the ombudsman's character in the scarce Latin American media which have dared to introduce it. To do so, in depth telephone interviews were conducted with 10 of the 12 ombudsmen that exist in Latin America. The results reveal the existence of a rather great diversity of variables and of numerous forms of being for a same professional character.
