En este libro, el curador de arte, Jorge Villacorta Chávez y el investigador y docente, Andrés Garay Albújar, recuperan una figura cuya originalidad ha permanecido casi oculta en el tiempo. Con este trabajo, quieren reconocer a Guillermo Montesinos Pastor y, como ellos mismos afirman en la presentación del libro, “inscribirlo como el primer creador de una visión netamente expresiva en referencia a un mundo subjetivo y, por ende, de una visualidad inédita en el uso del medio fotográfico en el sur andino peruano”. Este estudio ha sido posible gracias a que la familia Montesinos ha conservado por casi cien años sus fotografías y cajas con valioso material de estudio para documentar su trabajo.
